14-yr-old killed to keep lid on illicit ties

Couple suffer burn injuries

A young housewife Mrs Jyoti, and her husband Mr Mukesh sustained serious burn injuries in their house at Rajlu Garhi village about 10 km from here this morning. According to a report, both the injured were admitted to a private hospital where the condition of the woman was stated to be serious.

The Government Railway Police have registered a case against some unidentified students who attacked passengers in the New Delhi-bound Jhelum Express (1078 Down) between Sonepat and Ganaur railway stations and delayed the train for more than 30 minutes yesterday.

Life term for killing wife
Sonepat, February 12
The District and Sessions Judge of Sonepat, Mr B L Singal, yesterday convicted an accused Raj Singh of Mokhra village in Rohtak district under Section 302 IPC and sentenced him to life imprisonment with a fine of Rs 5,000 or in default to undergo further two years rigorous imprisonment for murdering his wife Mrs Rajbala on the night of June 27, 2002 at Bindhrauli village in the district.
