PSEB cashier suspended on fraud charge

The Punjab State Electricity Board has suspended a cashier posted at Pakhowal following a detection of fraud perpetrated by him. The suspect allegedly pocketed thousands of rupees deposited by farmers of the village against bills.

Mr Baldev Singh, Sessions Judge, has acquitted Amrik Singh of New Shimlapuri of the charge of murdering his brother Avtar Singh, in 2002, as the prosecution failed to prove the allegations levelled against him.

Development works initiated Ludhiana, February 9 The Punjab Government was relentlessly pursuing its agenda of development both in urban and rural areas in the state and necessary funds were being provided for major infrastructure development projects. In fulfilment of the plans, civic bodies had been directed to step up pace of development and bring about qualitative improvement in civic services.
