Lift parking for Capital’s three marketing hubs
New Delhi, January 8
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi has decided to construct lift-based parking lots (Silo Parking System) in South Extension, M Block Market in GK-I and Shastri Park in Karol Bagh. In these upmarket areas, people generally do not get parking space in peak hours. The design of the proposed parking lot has been prepared by the Infrastructure Development Finance Corporation, a private agency which was hired by the corporation as a consultant.

Extra HC sitting to clear backlog of cases

The BJP has questioned the rationale behind the Government of NCT of Delhi’s decision to “junk” the NCERT textbooks and replace them with a new set of books on the ground that the NCERT curriculum has “communal” overtones.

51 routes earmarked in Sonepat for private transporters
Sonepat, January 8
Under its new Haryana Passengers Transport Scheme, 2003, the Transport Department of Haryana Government, which has been implemented from January 4 this year, as many as 51 routes have been earmarked in the district for private transporters to ply their buses.

Truckers’ committee to curb overloading

As many as 11 associations of truckers and transporters under the aegis of Delhi Interstate Truck Owners’ Association have formed an action committee to see that no vehicle be overloaded in contravention of the prescribed Gross Vehicle Weight limit.
