Cold day conditions are prevailing in some parts of Haryana, Punjab, east Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.

Rainfall: Rain or snow has occurred at most places in Uttaranchal, at many places in Jammu and Kashmir and at a few places in Himachal Pradesh. Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in Haryana. Weather was dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of precipitation in cm are: east Uttar Pradesh: Lucknow 2 and Sultanpur 1, west Uttar Pradesh: Bareilly 2 and Uttaranchal: Tehri 2 and Mukteshwar 1.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures fell appreciably in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and west Rajasthan, fell in Punjab and changed a little elsewhere. Departure: They were appreciably below normal in west Rajasthan and Uttaranchal, below normal in Himachal Pradesh and Punjab and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 1°C recorded at Churu (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid until the morning of December 30: Rain or snow is likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Uttaranchal. Rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places in east Uttar Pradesh. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of December 30: Cold day with chilly winds. Fog till forenoon. Partly cloudy sky later. Minimum temperature will be around 6°C.
