Sports festival concludes

A sports festival at Khattran village, 3 km from here, concluded yesterday. The festival was organised by the Youth Sports Club and the gram panchayat. The festival was inaugurated by Mr Joginder Singh, along with Lambardar Malkiat Singh, Akali leader Gurtejpal Singh Bhagwanpura, Mr Harpal Singh Dhillon, president of the Arhtia Association, Samrala, and Mr Jasveer Singh Jassi, president of the nagar council. Mr Malvir Singh Khattran, member, block samiti, and Inspector Kirpal Singh Khattran distributed prizes to the winners. A cultural programme was also organised on the occasion.

In the bullock-cart category, Mr Shangara Singh Sarwarpur stood first and Mr Balwant Singh Partapgarh second. In the bullock-cart category for old people, Mr Bhupinder Singh Jandali stood first and Mr Lakh Singh of Nandpur second.
