Villager hurt in mine blast

Jammu, November 27
A villager was critically injured today in a landmine explosion near the Line of Control (LoC) in Arnia, 30 km from here, official sources said.

A villager, identified as Darshan Singh, was on way to his fields, when he walked over a landmine, planted by the troops in Arnia border belt near LoC during Operation Prakram to stop cross-border infiltration from Pakistan side, this morning, sources said. The injured was later admitted to the government medical college hospital for the treatment, they added. — PTI
