Students examined at dental camp

Ludhiana, November 19
A week-long free dental check-up camp was inaugurated at GMT Senior Secondary Public School here today.
The camp was inaugurated by Mr Prem Chand, SDM. Dr J. Bindra, Head of the Department of Dentistry, Dayanand Medical College, and his team comprising Dr Sumit, Dr Ruchi, Dr Tripti and Dr Swapan examined students.

It started with a briefing to the students and staff regarding the diseases of teeth and gums and remedies to check these. Audio-visual slides were also shown. Chief guest, Mr Prem Chand, stressed the need and importance of such camps in the schools. He lauded Directors of the school K. S. Thind and J. S. Thind for initiating in the field of all-round development of a child’s personality.

The Principal, Ms Heema Jassal, expressed her gratitude to Mr Prem Chand, Dr J. Bindra and membership of her team.

CMCH holds medical camp

Ludhiana, November 19
A multi-speciality comprehensive medical camp was held at Gidderbaha by the local Christian Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) in association with the Public Welfare Club, Gidderbaha.

A total of over 15,050 patients were given free medical advice. The camp was inaugurated by Mr Mahesh Inder Singh Badal, District President of Congress (Muktsar), and Mr Raghubir Singh, former Municipal Commissioner of Gidderbaha, was also present on the occasion.

Representatives for CMCH gave an insight on the mission of the institution to reach out for the people of remote rural areas and to provide specialised health services to them. They also informed the public about the other primary health centers, being run under rural health and outreach program of the institution.

Students of Shanti Tara College, Ahmedgarh, who won medals in the Punjabi University Inter-College Wrestling Championship held recently along with college management committee members.

Ludhiana, November 19
Proving their prowess, students of Shanti Tara College Amhedgarh, bagged four medals including one gold and three silver, in the Punjabi University Inter-College Wrestling, Championship held recently. According to a press note issued by the college Principal today, it Munir Mohd, of B A (Part-I) proved his mettle and put his opponents to the mat and came out triumphant to win the gold medal. Mr Arvind Malhotra, general secretary, Shanti Tara College Management Committee, congratulated the winners and their coach.
