HAMIRPUR: Various parts of the district have been having heavy showers since morning as a result the day temperature has fallen. Normal life has also been affected in the plains. The most affected have been college students who could not take out processions in view of their Students Central Association elections slated for September 2. The farming community has, however, welcomed the showers claiming these to be beneficial for the further growth of their kharif crops. Reports reaching here from interiors of the district say that road traffic on various roads has been paralysed due to the falling of huge debris on them. PWD workers have been pressed into service to clear the roads, a spokesman of the department said here on Saturday. |
