Rainfall:
Rain or thundershowers have been reported many places in east Rajasthan, at a few places in west Rajasthan, east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at isolated places in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cms are: Jammu and Kashmir: Pahalgam 1; East Rajasthan: Jamwa Ramgarh 6, Kotra 5, Jaisamond 3, Arnod, Chhoti Sadari, Ramgarh Dam, Sapau and Urmila Sagar 2 each and Banswara and Gogunda 1 each; west Rajasthan: Didwana and Jaisalmer 1 each; east Uttar Pradesh: Ballia, Balmikinagar, Ghazipur, Jaunpur, Sultanpur and Turtipar 2 each and Ankinghat, Basti, Mukhlishpur and Varanasi A.P. 1 each and Uttaranchal: Banbasa and Rudraprayag 3 each, Uttarkashi 2 and Joshimath and Tehri 1 each.

Forecast valid until the morning of August 25: Rain or thundershowers are likely at many places in Himachal Pradesh, east Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at a few places in the rest of the region.

Heavy rainfall warning: Isolated heavy rain is likely in east Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal during the next 48 hours.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of August 25: Mainly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain/thundershowers in some areas.
