Monsoon covers entire region

The South-West monsoon has further advanced into the remaining parts of Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, thus covering the entire region. Monsoon has been vigorous in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, east Rajasthan and Uttaranchal and active in Punjab, west Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh.

Rainfall: Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Himachal Pradesh, east Rajasthan and Uttaranchal, at many places in Haryana, Punjab, west Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh and at a few places in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cms are: Haryana: Chhachhrauli 18, Naraingarh 11, Jagadhari 9, Ambala 5, Hisar and Thanesar 3 each, New Delhi (Palam) 2, Chandigarh 1, Himachal Pradesh: Paonta 20, Kahu 19, Bangana 18, Arki 11, Dadahu 10, Kandaghat 9, Barsar, Hamirpur and Kasol 8 each, Shimla and Sujanpur Tira 7 each, Kangra, Nahan and Rajgarh 6 each, Dharamsala and Guler 5 each, Solan and Sunnibhajji 4 each, Nagrota Surian, Pandoh and Sundernagar 2 each. Jammu and Kashmir: Jammu 4 and Batote 1, Punjab: Rajpura 11, Jalandhar 9, Nangal 8, Adampur 5, Nawanshahr 4, Patiala 3, Nakodar 2 and Batala, Dasuya, Garhshankar and Samrala 1 each, and Uttaranchal: Haripur 20, Tehri 14, Rudraprayag 13, Dehra Dun 12, Uttarkashi 9, Joshimath 4 and Hardwar 2.

Forecast valid until the morning of July 7: Rain or thundershowers will occur at many places in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, east Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at a few places in the rest of the region.

Heavy rainfall warning: Isolated heavy rain is likely in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal during the next 48 hours.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of July 7: Monsoon has arrived in Delhi. Mainly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers, in some areas.

Farmers’ weather bulletin for Delhi: forecast valid until the morning of July 7: Light to moderate rain will occur at many places.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change.
