Rainfall: Rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in Uttaranchal, at a few places in west Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, east Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm are as follows: Haryana — Rohtak 2; East Rajasthan— Kota AP 6 and Ramgarh Dam 3; East Uttar Pradesh: Mirzapur 4, Hanuman Setu and Neemsar 2 each and Birdghat and Dalmau 1 each; West Uttar Pradesh— Muzzaffarnagar 1; and Uttaranchal— New Tehri and Pantnagar 7 each.

Temperatures: (Past 24 hours change): Maximum temperatures rose appreciably in west Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh, rose in Haryana, east Rajasthan, west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, fell in Jammu and Kashmir and changed little elsewhere. Departures: These were appreciably below normal in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab, below normal in Haryana, east Rajasthan and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region.

The highest temperature in the region was 43.6°C recorded at Suratgarh (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid until the morning of June 24, 2003: Rain or thundershowers will occur at many places in Uttaranchal, at a few places in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in east Rajasthan. Weather will be mainly dry in west Rajasthan.
