Ajay, Kartikey star for Dogra Academy

Devastating bowling performances by Ajay Chouhan, who claimed five wickets for 73 runs and Kartikey Kaul, who claimed four wickets for 70 runs, enabled Gyan Bharati South Delhi Cricket Academy draw with Sumit Dogra Academy in a two-day match of the Gyan Bharati

Under-13 Cricket Tournament at the Gyan Bharati School ground, Saket. Both the teams earned nine points each.

Sumit Dogra Academy, batting first, were shot out for 227 in 74.2 overs, thanks to the devastating bowling displays of Ajay and Kartikey.

Gyan Bharati then replied with 178 for 8 in 71.3 overs. But when the Sumit Dogra Academy batted a second time, Ajay took four wickets for 32 runs to restrict them to 100 for 4 in 33 overs.

Gyan Bharati then replied with 22 for no loss off six overs in their second innings.

Scores:

Sumit Dogra Academy (1st innings): 227 all out (Balinder Singh 75, Himanshu Rawat 54, Ajay Chouhan 5 for 73, Kartikey Kaul 4 for 70).

Second innings: 100 for 4 in 22 overs (Himanshu Rawat 29 n.o., Robin Singh 27 n.o., Balinder Singh 20, Ajay Chauhan 4 for 32).

Gyan Bharati(1st innings): 178 for 8 (Anukul Chandok 45, Abhilash Malik 45, Abhishek Choudhary 33, Ranveer Gandhi 3 for 54, Aditya Narain Mahajan 2 for 27). Second innings: 22 for no loss in 6 overs.

Cotton Harbour Club win

New Delhi: Cotton Harbour Club defeated Frank Anthony Academy by 81 runs and entered the semi-final of the first Madhavrao Scindia Memorial Cricket Tournament at the Andrewsganj School ground. In another match, Sadar Bazar Youth spun out Adarsh Club through the spin of the coin, also to make the semi-final grade.

Scores: Cotton Harbour: 250 all out in 24.3 overs (Gaurav Mehta 75, Lalit Anand 31, Santram 3 for 49, Amanjeet 3 for 29). Frank Anthony Academy: 169 for 7 in 25 overs (Sunil Sudan 38, Mohti Bagga 30, Atul Brown 3 for 22, Lalit Anand 3 for 28). Adarsh Club: 181 all out in 25 overs (Sudhir Sidhy 54, Kishore Kumar 32, Harender Rawat 3 for 35, Ravi Uniyal 3 for 34). Sadar Bazar Youth:181 for 5 in 25 overs.

N S Gujral re-elected DTTA president

N. S. Gujral, chairman and managing director of Punjab and Sind Bank, was unanimously re-elected president of the Delhi Table Tennis Association (DTTA) for a third consecutive term.

In the Annual General Body meeting of the DTTA held at the Talkatora Indoor Stadium, the following officials were elected to other posts.

Vice-presidents: M S Batra, Randhir Singh Yadav, R. K. Sharma, Naresh Jain, Rakesh Kohli, D. P. Singh and S.J.S. Pall. Secretary: Harinder Singh. Joint-secretaries: B. D. Gandhi, S. K. Jolly and Sandeep Gupta. Treasurer: Anand Parkash. Organising secretary: Hukam Singh.

Shastri Club record facile victory

Lal Bahadur Shastri Club recorded a facile seven-wicket victory against S D Academy, Najafgarh, in a league match of the first Turf Youth Cup Under-15 Cricket Tournament at the Airport Authority of India ground.

Scores: S D Academy: 121 all out in 28 overs (Dhanji 20, Promod Gupta 20, Vipin Kumar 4 for 23, Sawan Saini 2 for 14). Shastri Club: 124 for 3 in 20 overs (Tarun Chowdhary 31, Rajan Jain 64 n.o).

A cakewalk for Jind Coaching Centre

Jind Coaching Centre defeated Vaish Public School Cricket Academy by 7 wickets in the second encounter of the three-match series being played here at the Vaish Public School ground today. Vaish Public School Academy scored 116 runs in 29.5 overs. Anil Sharma contributed 28 and Anand Yadav made 18. Anil Mahla and Munish Kashyap accounted for the dismissal of three batsmen each.
