FCI upset Delhi Audit in DSA League

New Delhi, June 11
Food Corporation of India (FCI) Headquarters stunned defending champions Delhi Audit 1-0 in a Group B match of Senior Division in the Delhi Soccer Association (DSA) Institutional League at the Ambedkar Stadium on Wednesday.

This victory helped FCI avoid relegation from Senior Division to A Division. FCI have earned three points from four matches while Delhi Audit have collected six points from three matches.

FCI scored the match-winner through striker Vikramjit who tapped in a rising ball over the head of on-rushing custodian Deepak Bisht in the 40th minute.

The star-studded Delhi Audit would rue their inability to convert easy goal-scoring chances from the goalmouth as their forwards Neeraj Chaudhary and Sameer Jung fumbled inside the box time and again.

In a Group A match of A Division, Delhi Development Authority (DDA) defeated Bank of India 3-1. Outside-left Rajender Sejwan put DDA in the lead just two minutes into the match while Bulbul consolidated the lead in the 20th minute. K K Kashyap reduced the margin for the bank in the 45th minute while William scored the third goal for DDA in the 58th minute. DDA have earned seven points from three matches while Bank of India have collected only three points from two matches. Thursday’s fixture: RBI vs Bank of India (4 pm); ESIC vs Urban Development Ministry (5.15 pm)—Ambedkar Stadium. OSR
