Seven years RI for rape

Sonepat, June 7
Mr B. S. Rawat, Additional Sessions Judge of the Fast Track Court yesterday convicted an accused, Rajbir of Dubheta village, under Section 376 IPC and sentenced him to seven years rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of Rs
5,000. Rajbir was found guilty of having raped a 12-year-old girl of the same village on November 20, 2001.

Notice for Removal of biomedical waste

The Haryana Pollution Control Board is reported to have sent notices to atleast 61 government and private hospitals as well as nursing homes in this district for the removal of biomedical waste in and around their buildings.

According to a report, they have been asked to explain why they should not be prosecuted for failing to comply with the decision of the state government.

Meanwhile, the district unit of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has given a contract to Indian Waste Energy Development Limited, Delhi, for the removal of the biomedical waste from the hospitals in this city and elsewhere in the district.
