Rainfall: Rain or snow has occurred at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Rain or thundershowers have occurred at isolated places in east Uttar Pradesh. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. Dhundhi (Himachal Pradesh) recorded 1 cm of precipitation.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures rose in Jammu and Kashmir, fell appreciably in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal, fell in Haryana and changed little elsewhere. Departures: They were above normal in east Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region.

The highest temperature in the region was 42.4°C recorded at Banda (Uttar Pradesh).

Forecast valid until the morning of April 19: Rain or thundershowers are likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal and at isolated places in east Uttar Pradesh. Isolated duststorm/thunderstorm is likely in south Rajasthan. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of April 19: Mainly clear sky with dust haze. Maximum temperature will be around 39°C.
