Rainfall: Weather was dry over the region.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures rose appreciably in east Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and changed little elsewhere. Departure: They were markedly above normal in Jammu and Kashmir, appreciably above normal in west Rajasthan, above normal in Himachal Pradesh and east Rajasthan and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 37.8C recorded at Jalore (Rajasthan).

Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures rose in Uttaranchal and changed little elsewhere. Departures: They were appreciably above normal in Rajasthan, above normal in Haryana and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 11°C recorded at Adampur.

Forecast valid until the morning of March 23: Rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for New Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of March 23: Mainly clear sky. Maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 32°C and 18°C, respectively.
