Rainfall: Rain or snow has occurred at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. Bhuntar (Himachal Pradesh) and Bastote (Jammu and Kashmir) each recorded 1 cm of precipitation.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures rose appreciably in Jammu and Kashmir, rose in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttaranchal and changed a little elsewhere.

Departures: They were appreciably above normal in west Rajasthan, above normal in Jammu and Kashmir, east Rajasthan and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region.

The lowest temperature in the plains was 7.8°C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of Feb 25: Rain or snow is likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Uttaranchal. Rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Haryana and Punjab. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.
