Bathinda refinery on schedule
Tribune News Service

New Delhi, February 18
Minister for Petroleum Ram Naik today said that “mechanical completion” of work on HPCL refinery at Bathinda would be completed on schedule in December 2006 and that the decision to disinvest in the public sector company would in no way effect the work on the refinery.

To a question raised by Mr Rajiv Ranjan Singh and Mr Lajpat Rai, the Petroleum Minister said the Rs 10,000 crore refinery work initiated by the Vajpayee Government would certainly be completed. Since the Government has decided to disinvest HPCL, the buyer might be asked to complete the project if there was any difficulty.
