Rainfall: Rain or snow has occurred at most places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir. Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh, at many places in Haryana, east Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh and at a few places in west Rajasthan. The chief amounts of precipitation (in cm) are: Chandigarh 4, Haryana: Ambala and Panchkula 3 each, Ayanagarh (Delhi), Kalka, Naraingarh and Panipat 2 each and Delhi Ridge, Jagadhari, Kaithal, Nilokheri, New Delhi (Palam and Safdarjung), Sonepat and Thanesar 1 each, Himachal Pradesh: Kangra 4, Bangana, Bharwain, Dehragopipur, Ghamroor, Guler, Nagrota Surian and Sangraha 3 each, Dharampur, Kahu, Nadaun, Rajgarh and Una 2 each and Berthin, Barsar, Jhandutta, Kasol, Kotkhai, Kandaghat, Nahan, Rampurbushar, Shimla and Sujanpur Tira 1 each, Punjab: Patiala 5, Bhatinda, Halwara and Mukerian 2 each and Amritsar, Adampur, Balchaur, Ludhiana and Nangal 1 each, East Uttar Pradesh: Lucknow 2 and Allahabad 1, West Uttar Pradesh: Bareilly and Hindon 2 each, Uttaranchal: Dehradun and Mukteshwar 4 each and Pantnagar 2. Snowfall Report (Cms): Himachal Pradesh: Dhundhi 46, Solangnala 35 and Bhang and Patsio 19 each.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures fell largely in west Rajasthan, fell markedly in east Rajasthan, fell in Punjab, rose in east Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere.

Departures: They were appreciably above normal in Haryana and east Uttar Pradesh, above normal in PUnjab, east Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region.

The lowest temperature in the plains was 3° C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of February 3: Rain or snow will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir. Rain or thundershowers will occur at many places in Uttar Pradesh, at a few places in Haryana, Punjab and east Rajasthan and at isolated places in west Rajasthan.

Heavy rainfall warning: Heavy rain or snow is likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal during the next 48 hours.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of February 3: Partly cloudy sky with possibility of rain/thundershowers in some areas. Fog in the morning. Minimum temperature will be around 7° C.
