150 detained
New Delhi, December 21
Over 150 activists of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and the Hindu Sena were detained today when they made an abortive attempt to perform a “yajna” in the Quwwat-ul-Islam mosque situated at the base of Qutub Minar here. The police, which had barricaded the monument, prevented the activists from entering the premises to perform ‘’Devmukti yajna’’ before the Ganesha idol in the 12th century mosque which they claim was built after demolishing 27 Hindu and Jain temples.
