Kalam cancels Iftar party
New Delhi, November 27
In a departure from tradition, the Rashtrapati Bhavan has cancelled the Iftar party and the money would be used for the welfare of inmates of orphanages, so that poor and needy are helped during the holy month of Ramzan, according to a statement. President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam greeted fellow countrymen on the occasion and hoped that the holy month would lead to peace and prosperity. PTI
