Man shot dead, robbed of Rs 2.65 lakh

Robbers shot dead a man, who was returning home after selling his land, and decamped with Rs 2.65 lakh he was carrying in Greater Noida area last evening. His driver was seriously injured in the incident. The criminals escaped in a Santro car.

15 students hurt as buses collide

Fifteen students of Delhi Public School, Vasant Vihar, were injured when two buses of the school collided at the traffic lights at Rao Tula Ram Marg on Ring Road this afternoon.

The national Capital could see a Dalit academy on the lines of the Sahitya Kala Academy and Academies of Urdu, Punjabi and Hindi. The Delhi Chief Minister, Ms Sheila Dikshit, made the declaration on Tuesday in her inaugural address to the two-day 18th National Conference of Dalit Writers.

The crime rate in the national Capital has come down by 9.2 per cent from January one to November 15 this year as compared to the corresponding period of previous year, the Lok Sabha was informed today.

Hurt in clash, man succumbs to injuries

Mr Rajinder Singh, a resident of Shekhpura village, succumbed to his injuries in the hospital here last evening. According to a report, at least 12 persons including Mr Rajinder Singh and two women had been injured in the clash between two rival groups that took place in the village last week. 

Drug addict cop charred to death
New Delhi

A constable of the Special Nagaland Armed Police was reportedly charred to death after his clothes caught fire in New Police Lines of the Delhi Police at Kingsway Camp last evening. He was identified as Tokyo Somi. His body was handed over to the Nagaland Police authorities in Delhi, the police said.

Girl smothered to death by stepfather

Aasha (4) was reportedly smothered to death by her stepfather, Harish, on Sunday evening. The suspect has been arrested. The suspect had buried the victim after committing the murder near his house in Anand Vihar area in East district.

Youths gag owner, loot shop
Sonepat, November 26
Four unidentified armed youths reportedly forced their way into an electronic shop in Gohana town, about 35 km from here, muzzled its owner and his two associates at pistol-point and looted Rs 60,000 and other goods worth several lakhs of rupees last night.
