HVP leader kidnapped
Shimla, November 19
Mr Inder Singh Thakur, Himachal Vikas Congress leader, was reportedly kidnapped from his house in Panthagahti area here today. According to sources, the incident occurred due to a money dispute. The kidnappers reportedly belonged to Haryana. An FIR has been lodged. OC

7 teachers suspended
Hisar, November 19
Haryana Education Minister Bahadur Singh has suspended seven teachers who were yesterday found absent from duty during inspection, said an official spokesman here today. The raids were conducted by the minister in four schools of Siwani. He warned some teachers whose results and teaching were reported as weak during the inspection. UNI

18 pilgrims killed
Jabalpur, November 19
As many as 18 pilgrims, including seven women and a child, were killed and 16 injured as a dumper rammed into a tempo near the famed Marble Rocks close to Beraghat, 12 km from here. Police sources said the tempo was carrying pilgrims for the ‘Kartik Snan’ at Beraghat when the dumper struck it from the rear last night. UNI

Bible copy burnt
Chennai, November 19
Miscreants burnt a copy of the Bible, looted a hundi and ransacked the premises of an apostle church in Ennore on the outskirts of the city, according to a complaint. Police sources said priest Carl Peter filed a complaint that a copy of the Bible was burnt and the hundi missing in the church built in 1988 in Tiruvalluvar Nagar. Even the asbestos roof was broken, the complaint said. UNI
