GNIP annual meet begins

Ludhiana, November 9
The 20th annual athletic meet of Guru Nanak International Public School was declared open today. The chief guest was Dr Lavtar Singh Chawla, a former Vice-Chancellor, Baba Farid University, Faridkot. The school also organised a crafts exhibition which displayed the talent of students. Guests were entertained by colourful items.

The Principal, Ms B. Gulati raised the morale of students by encouraging them to participate. Athletic events were the main attraction of the day. Prizes to the winners were given by the chief guest.

The results of some of the races are as follows:

200m senior girls: Sukhpreet Kaur 1, Kamal Preet Kaur 2, and Harvinder Kaur, 3.

100m junior boys: Jasmin Singh 1, Kanwarinder Singh 2, and Gaganpreet Singh 3.

100m junior girls: Ramanroop Dhingra 1, Divjot Kaur 2, Simranjit Kaur 3.

L.K.G. pair race: Amandeep and Inderpreet 1, Jaskaran and Manmeet 2, Jatin and Pankaj 3.

Inter-school athletic meet

Ludhiana, November 9
Guru Nanak Stadium, Ludhiana will be venue of the 48th Punjab State Inter-Schools Athletics Meet for boys and girls scheduled to be held from November 12 to 16. The schedule of this five-day meet was finalised at a meeting held here today at R.S. Model School which was chaired by Mr Bachhittar Singh, District Education Officer (Secondary). Physical education instructors from all schools and Assistant Education Officer, Ludhiana, Mr Sohan Singh also attended the meeting.
