Cardiac OPD at Fortis today

Ludhiana, November 7
Fortis Heart Institute and Multi-Speciality Hospital will organise Cardiac OPD in the city for the benefit of people in and around Ludhiana.

According to a press note, well- known cardiac surgeon, Dr V.M. Kohli who is a Senior Consultant (Cardio thoracic surgery) at Fortis Heart Institute and Multi Speciality Hospital, will provide consultancy on various heart ailments. Fortis will be holding this cardiac OPD in association with PAU hospital for the second time on November 8. Employees of PAU and their families can take the benefit of this OPD, free of charge. Such OPDs will be organised in Ludhiana fortnightly.

Dr V.M. Kohli said, ‘‘An increasing number of young Indians are falling prey to coronary artery disease. Urgent steps are now needed to ward off heart disease amongst people. Our last foray here had generated tremendous response and was beneficial for the people of the city and surrounding areas. This cardiac OPD, to be held for the third time in Ludhiana, is an effort to reach out to the people who are facing cardiac problems."

Ludhiana contingent for rural games

Ludhiana, November 7
Trials were conducted today at Guru Nanak Sports Complex to select the Ludhiana contingent for the forthcoming Punjab Rural Games for boys and girls under16. Ludhiana will compete in nine out of the 10 disciplines, athletics, football, kabaddi, hockey, kho-kho, wrestling, weightlifting, volleyball and tug of war, according to Mr Harpal Singh Kanwar, District Sports Officer. The following boys and girls will represent the city in these games slated to be held from November 13 to 15 at Sangrur.

Kabaddi (girls): Ramanveer Kaur, Gurjit Kaur, Ramandeep Kaur, Tajinder Kaur, Mandeep Kaur, Manpreet Kaur, Amandeep Kaur, Kiran Deep Kaur, Sikander, Mandeep Kaur. Stand-by: Pardip Kaur and Kuldeep Kaur.

Volleyball(boys): Lakhvir Singh, Rajwinder Singh, Beant Singh, Kuldip Singh, Lakhwinder Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Harinder Singh, Amarinder Singh, Manpreet Singh, Karanveer, Satwinder Singh and Tajinder Singh.

Volleyball (girls): Charanjeet, Jasvir, Amandeep, Mandeep, Gurpreet Kaur, Amrit Pal Kaur, Sandeep, Navjot, Inder Kaur, Kamaljeet , Amaninder, Jasveer and Sukhvinder Kaur.

Hockey (boys): Gurvinder Singh, Amrit Pal, Gurmail Singh, Satinder, Ramaninder, Jabir , Gursewak, Harinder, Gurjot, Gurmeet, Navdeep, Parmjit, Daljeet, Baljeet, Kanwarpal and Kuldip Singh.

Kabaddi (boys): Harpreet, Sarbjit, Baljinder, Jasdeep, Gagandeep, Sandip, Gurpreet , Nirmal, Parvinder, Satnam Singh, Mandeep Singh and Pardeep.

Tug of war (boys): Harvinder, Harpreet, Kulvinder, Jagjit, Hardeep, Harshpinder, Amritpal and Harjit Singh .

Wrestling (boys): Lakhvinder, Swaran Singh, Simran Jit Singh, Satnam Singh and Ravinder.

Athletics (boys): Amartej, Bahadur Singh, Pardeep, Hardev Singh, Sandeep , Mohd. Shamshad, Narinder, Kamalpreet, Manpreet, Amritpal and Gurvinder.
