Govt announces DA
New Delhi, October 29
The Union Cabinet today decided to release the outstanding arrears of dearness allowance (DA) to government employees and pensioners at the rate of 3 per cent per month in cash. This will be in addition to existing rate of 49 per cent and the additional instalment will be effective from July 1, 2002. TNS

Parliament session
New Delhi, October 29
The winter session of Parliament will begin on November 18 and end on December 20. A Union Cabinet meeting by Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee today approved the dates for the session which will have 23 sittings, an official spokesperson said here. TNS
