Rainfall: Rain or thundershowers have occurred at a few places in east Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in west Uttar Pradesh. Weather was dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cms are: east Uttar Pradesh: Allahabad and Varanasi 2 each.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures changed little. Departure: They were above normal in Himachal Pradesh and west Rajasthan and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 40.0°C recorded at Jalore (Rajasthan).

Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures change little. Departure: They were appreciably above normal in east Rajasthan, above normal in Haryana and west Rajasthan and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 15.7°C recorded at Ludhiana (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of October 19: Rain or thundershowers are likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at isolated place in west Uttar Pradesh. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.
