Salwan enter Ramjas final New Delhi, September 5 Gaurav Sharma, who scored a swashbuckling unbeaten 77, was adjudged the Man of the Match. Shikhar Dhawan also exhibited explosive batting to notch up 72. The batsmen’s fine job was brilliantly supplemented by bowlers Pradeep Maan (4/45) and Narender Singh (3 for 30) to help Salwan Boys post a handsome victory. In a league match, Hans Raj Model School beat DAV, Shalimar Bagh, by three wickets. Manu Sharma, who hit 56 runs, was declared the Man of the Match. FCI to meet Delhi Audit New Delhi, September 5 Delhi Audit and FCI emerged on top in the Senior Division Round-Robin League by collecting 17 points each from seven matches. In the A Division title clash, Punjab National Bank (PNB) will take on Urban Development Ministry (UDM) at 2 pm. Both the teams will be elevated to the Senior Division this year. PNB defeated Delhi Administration 1-0 on way to the final. Urban Development Ministry got the better of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) 2-0. State Bank of India chief general manager Ram Kumar Thapliyal will be the chief guest at the finals. The Delhi Veterans Football Club will hold a football tournament for A and B Division clubs from September 7 as a warm-up exercise prior to the DSA Open Clubs League, starting on September 15. honoured with Governor’s Faridabad, September 5 The Sports Department of Haryana gave away the cash prizes of Rs 6,000 to Rs 8,000 each at a special function held at Shahbad Markanda town recently. The Department officials announced to give cash rewards of Rs 31,000, 21,000 and Rs 11,000 respectively to winners of the Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals in National level Championship, while medallists in the Nationalist Games would get Rs 51,000, 31,000 and 21,000 respectively. Motorists to be fined for giving alms New Delhi: The Delhi Traffic Police has issued directions to all motorists not to encourage or indulge in any activity that hampers traffic flow and jeopardises the safety of road users at traffic junctions. This direction will specially apply to road junctions and will be enforced up to a distance of 100 metres on each approaching arm from the centre of the junction. Giving of alms to beggars or purchasing wares or goods from roadside vendors at traffic junctions has been construed as an act that is obstructive to the quick discharge of traffic at intersections, DCP (Traffic) Satish Golcha said. Violation of these directions by motorists will be punishable with a fine of Rs 100 for the first offence and Rs 300 for the second or subsequent offences. The directions were issued to curb and restrict begging, vending and hawking at intersections. The directions would be enforced tomorrow. TNS |
