Probe into PDS irregularities sought

The Sonepat Depot Holders Association have complained to the Director, Food and Supplies Haryana, alleging unnecessary delay in the delivery of atta by the CONFED authorities for distribution among the families living below the poverty line in Sonepat city and other parts of the district.

Regulatory mechanism for cargo movement

A mechanism to regulate the charges and practices of shipping lines, shipping agents, freight forwarders, consolidators and Customs House Agents needs to be put in place, a background paper prepared by the Northern India Shippers Association, a sister organisation of the PHDCCI, says.

Rain god lets loose fury in old Gurgaon

The Noida-based Software Technology Park, set up about a decade ago by the Ministry of Information Technology, has now been reduced to a mere shopping complex. When it was constructed, separate offices were allotted to different software companies in this complex. If one goes through the official records, about 1,500 software companies are shown to be operational. However, hardly two dozen small companies are managing their software business from here. The situation is such that this centre has turned into a shopping mall, laced with a variety of shops selling garments and cosmetics and housing general stores, beauty parlours, restaurants etc.
