Rainfall: Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, at many places in Haryana, Punjab and east Rajasthan. Weather was mainly dry in west Rajasthan.

The chief amounts of rainfall in cm are: Haryana: Dadari Toya 14, Dhansa 10, Rohtak 9, Jhajjar, Kharkhoda and Naraingarh 8 each; New Delhi (Palam) 7, New Delhi (Safdarjung) and Faridabad 6 each, Ayanagar (Delhi), Ballabhgarh, Gohana, Gurgaon and Sonepat 5 each, Ambala, Bahadurgarh and Pataudi 4 each, Chhachhrauli, Chandigarh, Guhla Jadaghari, Kalka, Masani Barrage, Punana and Sohana 3 each; Himachal Pradesh: Chamba and Sunibhajji 7 each, Nahan 6, Chaurah, Khairi, Bharwain and Paonta 5 each, Dharampur, Pandoh and Shimla 4 each and Kahu, Kandaghat and Rampurbushar 3 each; Jammu and Kashmir: Bhoond 12, Jammu 10, Bhasoli and Patti 8 each, Batote 7, Banihal and Kupwara 3 each, Pahalgam, Quazigund and Srinagar 2 each; Punjab: Amritsar 13, Batala 6, Dera Bassi 5, Patiala 4, Balachaur and Gurdaspur 3 each; east Rajasthan: Kaman 7, Kumhar 5, Deeg and Pahari 4 each, Nagar and Sikrai 3 each; east Uttar Pradesh: Varanasi 16, Chhatnag 10, Banda 9, Balmikinagar and Mirzapur 5 each, Ballia and Sultanpur 4 each, Allahabad, Katerniaghat and Lucknow 3 each and Gorakhpur 2; west Uttar Pradesh: Narora 5, Hamirpur and Shahjina 4 each, Hindon and Mathura 3 each and Agra 2; and Uttaranchal: Haripur 6, Dehra Dun, Hardwar, Mukteshwar, Tehri and Uttarakashi 2 each, Joshimath and Pantnagar 1 each.

Forecast valid until the morning of August 15: Rain or thundershowers will occur at many places in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, at a few places in east Rajasthan and at isolated places in west Rajasthan.

Heavy rainfall warning: Heavy rain is likely at isolated places in Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal during the next 48 hours. Heavy rain is also likely at isolated places in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab during the same period.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of August 15: Cloudy sky with a few spells of rain on thundershowers.
