Haryana draws up Rs 56 cr plan for waste management Panipat, August 7 To be executed with a loan component of Rs 42.42 crore from the NCRPB, the project would have Rs 14.14 crore (25 per cent) as the municipal share. In fact, the NCRPB had already released the first and the second instalments amounting to Rs 21.20 crore, official sources said. The towns which would be covered under the project are Gurgaon, Bahadurgarh, Sonepat, Palwal, Rewari, Rohtak, Panipat, Samalkha, Gohana, Ganaur, Jhajjar, Sohna, Nuh, Hodal, Meham and Bawal. M/s DHV Consultants of the Netherlands had been appointed for the preparation of the detailed project reports (DPRs) of the solid waste management schemes and for the implementation of the Solid Waste Management Scheme for 26 towns within the stipulated period subject to the compliance of the Solid Waste (Management and Handling) Rules, 2000. The DPRs had already been submitted by the consultants and are under consideration for finalisation. The project had been launched with a view to modernise the solid waste management system and minimise the handling of waste management by men. |
Another
garbage station for city New Delhi, August 7 The garbage station has been constructed in a plot area of 300 sq ft at a cost of Rs 4 lakh and completed in a short period of two months. The objective behind setting up of this garbage station is to segregate the solid waste on a short term at the primary collection stage. This station will provide facilities of segregation of biodegradable and non-biodegradable wastes with colour coding system i.e. red for metal and
glass, yellow for plastic materials, green for paper, gutta and organic waste and blue for mixed waste. With the setting up of these garbage stations the environment will be upgraded and self-sustainable eco-friendly atmosphere will be developed by the successful functioning of these garbage stations. |
