Ketan Parekh freed on bail
Mumbai, June 12
Scam-tainted stock broker Ketan Parekh, Kartik Parekh and their associate Jatin Sarvaiya were released on bail by a local court today. They were released from the Thane Jail after producing surety of Rs 2,50,000. The trio was arrested by the Economic Offences Wing of the Mumbai police on May 15. UNI

Arson in Baroda, cops use teargas
Ahmedabad, June 12
Teargas shells were lobbed to disperse a rioting mob in Baroda district late last night, the police said today. The mob set several vehicles and kiosks afire in Savli taluka town of Baroda district. The authorities decided to relax curfew under Vejalpur police station areas in Ahmedabad city between 9 am and 7 pm from today. PTI

China floods
Beijing, June 12
Heavy storms and floods have killed 180 persons in China, news reports said today. Some 150 persons died in Shaanxi province while several hundred were still missing, the official Xinhua news agency reported. DPA
