Rainfall: Rain or thundershower occurred at a few places in Himachal, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. Chief amounts of rainfall in cms are: Himachal: Bhanjar, Bhang, Dhundhi and Solang Nullah 1 each, Jammu and Kashmir: Pahalgam 1 and Uttaranchal: Dehra Dun 1.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures fell in Jammu and Kashmir and west Rajasthan and changed little elsewhere. Departures: These were appreciably above normal in Rajasthan, above normal in Haryana, appreciably below normal in Jammu and Kashmir and normal in the rest of the region.

The highest temperature in the region was 45.4°C recorded at Kota (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid till the morning of May 1, 2002: Rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Himachal, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Isolated duststorms or thunderstorms likely in Uttar Pradesh. Weather will be dry in rest of the region.
