Haryana BJP meets PM on Loharu riots New Delhi, March 21 Talking to TNS, former BJP Legislature Party leader Ramvilas Sharma said all party MPs and MLAs along with party office-bearers would draw the attention of the Prime Minister and the Home Minister to the treatment being meted out to BJP leaders by the Chautala government. “Our leaders have been framed on wrong charges and are in police remand for their alleged role in communal violence in Loharu”, Mr Sharma said, adding that our state Secretary Vijay Singh Shekhawat, son of freedom fighter Bhagwant Singh Shekhawat, was being maltreated. “The communal incidents in Loharu are the handiwork of Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala who is trying to communalise the situation for his own advantage,” Mr Sharma said. Mr Chautala along with his Education Minister Bahadur Singh were interested in grabbing land of the minority community. That was why they had engineered riots, he alleged. |
40 piglets killed by FMD Hisar, March 21 According to farm sources, all piglets were less than eight weeks old. The disease was first noticed about 10 days ago. After that, on an average four to six piglets have been dying every day. The bodies of 15 of them have been sent to the Haryana Agricultural University’s College of Veterinary Sciences for a post-mortem examination. Though the farm scientists did not reveal the findings of the report, it is learnt that the piglets had died of this dreaded disease. The outbreak of the disease has sent alarm bells ringing throughout the state. Already there are reports that several animals in nearby villages are showing symptoms of the disease. However, no official confirmation was forthcoming as yet. The farm scientists, however, said the disease had been controlled. This farm was set up in 1957 to help farmers supplement their income. The farm provides them piglets at subsidised rates and also offers short duration courses in pig farming. |
