HC asks MCD chief to comply with Sainik
Farms order
Tribune News Service

New Delhi, March 5
The Delhi Police Commissioner and the MCD Commissioner were directed by the Delhi High Court today to comply with its order for inquiry into the alleged complicity of certain officials in the illegal constructions in the high-profile Sainik Farms locality.

A Bench comprising Justice Anil Dev Singh and Justice Madan B. Lokur directed the police chief and MCD Commissioner to file reports regarding compliance of the court order by April 16.

The court on February 22 had directed the Police Commissioner to hold an inquiry how construction material was allowed to be carried inside the locality through five entry points when a constable was ordered to be posted at each of them.

The court also had directed the MCD Commissioner to file an affidavit giving details what action had been taken against corporation employees posted at the entry gates along with the police constables to prevent the building material from being taken in.

The court had also sought a report from the MCD chief as to what action had been taken against the erring officials and details about the departmental proceedings against two junior engineers who were last year convicted for contempt of court for filing false affidavits regarding the demolition of 34 houses in Sainik Farms.

Meanwhile, MCD’s Deputy Commissioner (south zone) in an affidavit said it was difficult to check the material being carried inside as apart from the five entry points, new ways were created by the offenders. Still, the MCD has suspended Assistant Engineer Sushil Kumar and Junior Engineer Sanjeev Jain for the lapses.

When the Cupid struck many on February 14, cassette manufacturer T-Series also decided to join the bash. It brought out Taz Mania Ishq, an album of mainly love songs written by Taz and sung by Stereo Nation, a Rohit Bal look alike Punjabi lad.

Of the 10 songs in the cassette, (five on each side), the first one, Ishq, is making waves for its fast foot-tapping note. Peeni Paani Sharaab, a soft number, is followed by Dilruba, a mix of Punjabi and Western styles, as also Na Jaane Kya Hua, a mix of Punjabi and rap, is catching up with youngsters. The side B’s `Love and Devotion’ and Aaja Giddha Vich are the main attractions of the cassette. What makes the cassette special is the amalgamation of Taz and Huntrez track in most of the songs, in which the use of the saxophone has contributed to the melodious effect.

TPM, the music company, is also gripped in the Punjabi song mania. The release of the cassette, Kuri Punjabi Lagdi E, proves it. The songs in the cassette are sung by Satwinder Bagga and written by Lal Athouli Wala, Raj Rurkee and Satta Koti Wala. The music composer for the cassettes’ nine songs is Charanjit Ahuja. The title song, Kuri Punjabi Lagdi, and Jatt Mela Vakhan Aya are foot tapping while others like Pardesi Veera and Maan Jattiyan are more of family songs.
