The government is to introduce the Prevention of Terrorism Bill, 2002, in Parliament on Monday. The Bill, which could not be introduced in Parliament in the last session, will replace the ordinance with stiff clauses intended to curb terrorist activities effectively. The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in a whip issued yesterday asked all members to be present and support the Bill on Monday. UNI

EC orders repoll in 68 Bihar booths
New Delhi, March 1
The Election Commission today ordered re-poll in 68 polling stations of the Bihar (SC) Assembly constituency of Uttar Pradesh on March 5 and, prima facie finding “large-scale booth-capturing” in the Kunda constituency, has summoned the candidates for a personal hearing on March 6. UNI
