Make maths fun

HELLO, friends! It’s Monday again and time for our weekly meeting at the Kids Chat point in Log…Tribune. This week our hosts Windy and Cliparti have been busy finding out more interesting things for you, whenever they could find time from their studies. And you know something, this fellow Fluppy was not even seen through the week. Let’s ask him where he was and what he was doing.

Fluppy: Hi! Friends, As you would be aware that all work and no play makes jack a dull boy. So…

Windy: So, you were out on a holiday. Were you?

Fluppy: No! Not really.

Cliparti: Then where were you?

Fluppy: I had gone to my cousin’s house in Delhi to prepare for exams. This way I had a holiday as well as did combined studies.

Cliparti: Wow! That’s great. You know something, combined studies, if done seriously, yield better results and can help you a lot, especially at the time of revision.

Windy:
Yeah! That’s true; even I do combined studies with my friend. But I guess Fluppy has been quite smart this time.

Fluppy: Not just this time buddy, Fluppy is smart always.

Windy: Oh Really! Anyway, I do not wish to remind you of something, which normally tells who is smart and who is not.

Cliparti: Oh! So you guys have got something to fight over again. But hang on, we are here to discuss with our friends the information that we have discovered during this week. So, Windy, what have you got for our friends?

Windy: Hey! This week I have something for our younger friends. This is better known as Automaths.

Fluppy: Wow! That seems to be for me Windy! What does it do? Will it solve my maths problems automatically?

Windy: Ha, ha, ha! Maybe yes and maybe not.

Fluppy: You sound very tricky, Windy. Our friends would be eager to know, what in heaven is this Automaths.

Windy: Ok, go to the site http://www.edbydesign.com/automath.html and see for yourself. Well, for our readers, this is basically a very interactive Website, where you can master math by actually playing. Young friends can learn the skill of math and can even test it. Other activities for our young friends include kids activities, scrambler, story teller, base ten counts, print activities, mega scrambler, etc. Overall this site is very interesting and offers education with fun.

Fluppy: Oh! I though this site could solve my homework problems.

Cliparti: Don’t worry, Fluppy! I have something to ease your tension, too. You can logon to http://www.infoplease.com/homework for your homework-related problems. This is a very good site with lots of resources. You will find good information on education and studies. You can search this site by subject and can also look for specific topics under various headings. You can browse through the homework topics to find the one matching your need and can get your problem solved. Also you can learn study skills or speaking and writing skills. So, Fluppy, you would find this site very useful.

Windy: I don’t think so, Cliparti.

Cliparti: Why, Windy! Don’t you think that the information that I have mentioned is useful?

Windy: No Cliparti, I am sure the information on this site would be very useful.

Cliparti: Then why do you think it will not be helpful for Fluppy?

Windy: Simple! You have mentioned writing skills, speaking skills, etc, I guess this site does not have anything on cheating skills for exams, which would be more useful for Fluppy.

Fluppy: Grrr…, What else could be expected from you Windy? You speak what you are and…

Cliparti: Okay, guys! You have now something to spend the rest of your day on. But let’s not waste the time of our readers. Bye friends, see you next week, and wish Windy and Fluppy meet you next time very serious and fighting as usual.
