He also disclosed that the state government would establish community health centres, educational institutions and provide basic facilities to the people living in Sectors 12, 15 and 23 in and around the city. Reviewing the progress about the medical facilities, Mr Chatterjee directed the civil surgeon to take immediate steps to provide medicines and other modern equipment to the health institutes in the villages so that the rural people could take advantage of the facilities. Regarding the educational facilities, Mr Chatterjee asked the District Education Officer to implement the new educational policy of the state government in rural schools and take steps to provide computer education to the students studying in rural schools of the district. The Superintending Engineer of the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) told the meeting that the UHBVN has so far installed as many as 40,000 new electronic meters on the premises of the consumers and 15,000 more such meters would be installed shortly. People have accepted INLD: Chautala Panchkula, February 24 This was stated by the Chief Minister, Mr Om Prakash
Chautala, here today. He was here in order to get the blessings of Jain Muni Roop Chand Rajat. Talking to mediapersons, Mr Chautala said that the people of the state had accepted that only the INLD could give a clean government that would work for the development of the masses. He said that the result of the Yamunanagar byelection had shattered the myth of it being a traditionally BJP seat. In response to a question on the separation with the BJP in the state, Mr Chautala said that the state leaders would have now learnt the lesson. He said the BJP leaders had wanted to fight it out all alone and as a result its candidate had secured the
fourth place. Talking about the INLD’s performance in Uttar Pradesh, he said that the party’s aim was to help the National Democratic Alliance in the elections. He, however, said that the present assembly elections were not a referendum on the NDA government. Mr Chautala held the electronic media responsible for confusing the voters with their “biased” exit poll. Talking about Punjab, Mr Chautala said that the exit poll tilted the voters’ choice against the SAD-BJP alliance. He reiterated that the SYL canal would be constructed on priority basis,
irrespective of the fact that which party formed the next government in Punjab. |
