Proposal to make Panchkula
permit-free zone for autos
Panchkula, February 12
The State Transport Department proposes to make the township and its peripheral areas a ‘permit-free zone’ for plying of auto-rickshaws.
Sources in the department yesterday informed Chandigarh Tribune, that a draft policy in this regard had been prepared and it would be soon submitted to the state government for its approval.
Counter-complaint against
Badals
Chandigarh, February 12
Reacting to the defamation cases filed against it by the Badal family, the Congress today filed a counter defamation complaint against the Punjab Chief Minister, Mr Parkash Singh Badal, and his son, Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal, besides two others. The case will come up for preliminary evidence on February 23.

Taxi union gives rent offers to MC

The Taxi Workers Union of Chandigarh has offered a rent of Rs 1575 for an area below 2000 square feet and Rs 2275 for an area above 2000 square feet per month to the Municipal Corporation.
