Rainfall: Weather was dry over the region.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures rose in west Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere.

Departures: They were normal over the region.

The lowest temperature in the plains was 1.0°C recorded at Adampur (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of January 13: Rain or snow is likely at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir. Weather will be dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of January 13, 2002: Mainly clear sky, mist/fog in the morning. Maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to rise and will be around 24°C and 9°C, respectively.
