Rainfall: Weather was dry over the region.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures fell in east Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh and changed a little elsewhere. Departures: They were below normal in Jammu and Kashmir, east Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region.

The lowest temperature in the plains was -0.4°C recorded at Pilani (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid until the morning of January 2, 2002: Weather will be dry over the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of January 2, 2002: Hazy sky. Chilly winds during day time. Fog in the morning. Rise in maximum temperature and a slight fall in minimum temperature and will be around 19°C and 6°C respectively.
