Monsoon has been vigorous in east Uttar Pradesh.

Rainfall: Rain or thundershowers have been reported at many places in east Uttar Pradesh, at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Haryana, Punjab, west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal. Weather was dry in Rajasthan. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm are: Haryana: Chandigarh 1, Himachal Pradesh: Nadaun 3 and Guler and Sujanpur Tira 1 each, Jammu and Kashmir: Jammu 5, east Uttar Pradesh: Khadda 25, Bansi 19, Kakrahi and Regoli 17 each, Mukhlishpur 16, Basti 13, Ayodhya 12, Sultanpur 11, Jaunpur 10, Birdghat 8, Turtipar 7, Gorakhpur 6, Raibareli and Varanasi AP 4 each, Balrampur and Chhatnag 3 each, Allahabad, Dalmau and Ghazipur 2 each and Chandradeepghat and Kanpur 1 each and Uttaranchal: Uttarkashi 1.

Forecast valid until the morning of September 4: Rain or thundershowers will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh, east Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in Haryana, Punjab and east Rajasthan. Weather will be mainly dry in west Rajasthan.

Heavy rainfall warning: Heavy to very heavy rain is likely at isolated places in north Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal during the next 48 hours.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of September 4: Generally cloudy sky with a few showers/thundershowers. Possibility of thunderstorm accompanied with squall in some areas.
