Rainfall: Rain or thundershowers have been reported at a few places in Himachal Pradesh, east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at isolated places in west Uttar Pradesh. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm. are: Himachal Pradesh: Kasol 8, Gohar 3, Pandoh 2 and Kataula, Kangra and Sundernagar 1 each, east Uttar Pradesh: Khadda 9, Kakrahi, Regoli and Shardanagar 6 each, Birdghat, Palliakalan and Turtipar 5 each, Gorakhpur, Ghazipur and Mukhlishpur 4 each and Bansi and Ballia 1 each, Uttaranchal: Dehra Dun 4 and Rudraprayag 3.

Forecast valid until the morning of August 31: Rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.
