5 feared killed in bus mishap
Solan, August 28
Five persons were feared dead and one was injured when an HRTC bus fell into a 1,000-metre-deep gorge near Dattyar, about 5 km from Parwanoo, around 6.30 p.m. today. The bus, carrying a consignment of tyres, was on its way from Shimla to Kalka, said Mr Sunder Lal, ASP. Because of darkness and topographical difficulties, no rescue operation could be launched and none of the victims identified till 8 p.m. Mr Sanjay Murthi, Deputy Commissioner, and Mr S.H.A. Zaidi, Superintendent of Police, have rushed to the spot. OC
