Rainfall: Rain or thundershowers have occurred at a few places in Himachal Pradesh, east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at isolated places in Punjab. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm are: Himachal Pradesh: Kasol 6, Pandoh, Sujanpur Tira and Solan 2 each and Dharampur and Sunibhaji 1 each, East Uttar Pradesh: Mukhlispur 6, Turtipar 5, Ballia and Ghazipur 4 each, Birdghat and Khadda 3 each and Katerniaghat 1 and Uttaranchal: Haripur 7, Bausan and Dehra Dun 2 each.

Forecast valid until the morning of August 29: Rain or thundershowers will occur at many places in East Uttar Pradesh, at a few places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal and at isolated places in Punjab and West Uttar Pradesh . Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Heavy rainfall warning: Heavy rain is likely at isolated places in East Uttar Pradesh during the next 48 hours.
