Rain or thundershowers have occurred at a few places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at isolated places in Punjab. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm. are: Himachal Pradesh: Baijnath 5, Kasol 4, Hamirpur 3 and Bangana 1, Jammu and Kashmir: Katra 2, East Uttar Pradesh: Gorakhpur and Mukhlishpur 7 each, Bahraich and Birdghat 4 each, Bhatpurwaghat, Jaunpur and Neemsar 3 each and Ayodhya, Chillaghat, Hamirpur and Shahjina 1 each and Uttaranchal: Haripur 3 and Dehradun and Tehri 1 each.

Forecast valid until the morning of August 23: Rain or thundershowers will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh, east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in Haryana and east Rajasthan. Weather will be mainly dry in west Rajasthan.
