Monsoon has been active in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab.
Rainfall: Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Haryana and Himachal Pradesh, at many places in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Uttaranchal and at a few places in Uttar Pradesh. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm are: Haryana: Ballabhgarh 9, Thanesar 5, Ambala 4, Jagadhari 3, Dadupur, Naraingarh, Panipat and Tajewala 2 each and Ayanagar (Delhi), Chandigarh, New Delhi (Palam and Safdarjung), Rohtak and Rewari 1 each; Himachal Pradesh: Una 6, Kangra 3, Shimla 2 and Bhuntar, Ghamroor, Guler, Kahu, Kasol, Nahan, Paonta and Sundernagar 1 each; Jammu and Kashmir: Batote 3, Banihal, Kathua and Pahalgam 2 each and Srinagar 1; Punjab: Patiala 9, Nangal 3 and Adampur 1, East Uttar Pradesh: Varanasi (BHU) 3; west Uttar Pradesh: Jhansi 4, Sarsawa 2 and Hindon 1; and Uttaranchal: Bausan 2 and Haripur 1.

Forecast valid until the morning of August 17: Rain or thundershowers will occur at many places in Jammu and Kashmir, east Rajasthan and south Uttar Pradesh and at a few places in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of August 17: Generally cloudy sky with one or two showers/thundershowers.
