Magsaysay awardee pulled up
Alwar, August 15
Rajasthan Minister for Irrigation Kamla today said no one would be allowed to violate law while constructing dams to conserve rain water. Alleging that Magsaysay Award winner Rajendra Singh got a dam constructed in Laava ka Baas in Alwar district violating legal provisions, she said no one would be allowed to violate laws even if he be the Magsaysay winner. CVC on graft
New Delhi, August 15
After putting the names of “corrupt” officials on its official website, the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) today came out with another method of creating awareness among the people to fight corruption. Coinciding with Independence Day, the CVC launched the “citizens’ guide to fighting corruption” on the CVC’s website giving complete information to the people interested in fighting the menace of corruption. Karimnagar, August 15
Suspected Naxalites of the CPM Janashakti group blasted the Mandal Revenue Office (MRO) at Kodimyal Mandal in this district of Andhra Pradesh last night. The police, quoting an official report here today, said about eight Naxalites led by Jagan, district committee member, blasted the MRO office. UNI
