Imported blood testing unit gathers

An imported blood component separation unit worth Rs 1 crore, the first of its kind in the state, has been lying idle at Guru Nanak Medical College here for the past three months for want of a meagre amount of Rs 2 lakh required for its installation.

The Uttar Pradesh police tonight arrested two Lashker-e-Toiba militants, who had planned to strike on the eve of Independence Day, from cantonment area here and seized 12 kg of RDX and several weapons from them, a senior police official said.
