Rainfall: Rain or thundershowers have been reported from a few places in Rajasthan and at isolated places in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amount of rainfall in cms was: Haryana: Sirsa AP 2, Himachal Pradesh: Baijnath 2, Punjab: Bathinda AP 1, Rajasthan: Churu and Suratgarh AP 3 each, Bikaner, Jodhpur and Sawai Madhopur 2 each and Sriganganagar 1.

Temperature: Past 24 hours changes: Maximum temperatures rose largely in Himachal Pradesh, rose appreciably in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh, rose in Haryana, east Rajasthan, east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and changed little in west Rajasthan.

Departures: They were largely below normal in Haryana, markedly below normal in Rajasthan, appreciably below normal in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, below normal in Himachal Pradesh and normal in Jammu and Kashmir. The highest temperature in the region was 40.0°C recorded at Phalodi (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid until the morning of May 24: Rain or thundershowers are likely at a few places in Haryana and east Rajasthan and at isolated places in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of May 24: Partly cloudy sky with the possibility of thundery developments in some areas. Maximum temperature would be around 36°C.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: Not much change.
